A West Homewood tradition has reached a milestone. Slow Your Roll will be changing their normal starting point from Seeds Coffee to Cahaba Cycles in downtown Homewood. They will be rolling through the streets of Homewood and ending up at Dave's Pizza. Everyone will meet at 3:45 and roll out at 4.
The Homewood Parks Department will be shutting down the streets of downtown Homewood on July 4th and bringing in all kinds of inflatables and rides for the kids. The fun starts at 5 and runs until the fireworks kick off at 9.
Our friends over at Seeds are hosting a little neighborhood cookout. They'll be grilling up hamburgers and hotdogs, will have some beer specials and will be providing live music. Event runs from 4-9.
There will be an informal meeting/discussion next Thursday over at Trinity West Homewood UMC @ 6:30. The last meeting lasted a little over an hour, so you'll be home in time for a late dinner.
The above mock up of the pool deck proposed for Patriot Park is our first glimpse of what it might look like this time next year. The Parks Department is still working through refining the design. The trio of Town Hall Meetings now being concluded, the Dept and Board will move forward after receiving public input on finalizing everything and executing.
Due to water damage from the recent heavy rain that came through - our favorite local dessert spot will be setting up in front of their store until everything inside is presentable again. Kudos to David and Wani for keeping us cool this summer!
The 3rd Town Hall with the Parks Dept around two different projects that will impact West Homewood is tomorrow (6pm @ The Senior Center). If you're curious and already out and about checking out the Farmers Market - swing in and get the latest.
You can catch up on past meeting presentation slides here: http://www.homewoodparks.com/park-boar…/facilities-upgrades/ Join us for an evening of summer fun at the West Homewood Farmer's Market. Open every Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm June thru the first Tuesday of August.
