Entry to the Salamander Festival is free and open to the general public. Activities include animal exhibits (real salamanders, fish, turtles, and more) with biologists and naturalists to answer questions. Also, nature crafts to make, educational displays representing different groups and live music by the Herb Trotman Band. There will be t-shirts and novelty items for sale and a chocolate fountain for which one can buy a plate of dippers.
Starting at 4:00 P.M. a presentation will begin with members of Friends of Shades Creek and a welcome by Homewood City officials, followed by awards and the story of the Homewood Spotted Salamander.
