Heads up early Saturday risers! There will be a 10K running through the neighborhood March 7th starting at 7:30am. The majority of the runners should be exiting the neighborhood by ~8:15am. The race finishes down Lakeshore. During that 45 minute window, avoid Oak Grove and enter/exit via Oxmoor if you can. Also avoid the Lakeshore/Greensprings intersection at all cost from ~8-9am.
It's that time again. Your Ward 2 city council members are hosting an informal town hall to fill you in on anything going on in the city and field any questions you might have. This Thursday.
Santa is coming to Ash on Dec 3rd. It's also a kids eat free night, so that lines up well. Come get the toy requests in and snap a picture for your Christmas card this year!

Membership rates for Homewood Parks is going up on Monday, April 29th. The good news, you still have time to snag the previous rates over at the Homewood Community Center Business Office. 1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209 (Central Pool)
The Wine10K has become a West Homewood tradition. Entering its fourth year, it has become the premier 10K in the southeast and one of the fastest in the country. They sold out and 1100 runners will be starting from Patriot Park this Saturday, March 2nd. They'll dip into the neighborhood and then head out Raleigh to the Lakeshore Trail to finish the race off. Expect to see 3-time Olympian Meb Keflezighi mixed in with the rest of the runners. Probably best to avoid Oak Grove from 7:30-8:30 if you can help it.
If you're a fan of Sunday brunches, you won't have to drive far starting next week. One of your favorite neighborhood joints will be serving up your favorite meal of the weekend.
Happy Holidays! There will be a very informal Ward 2 Town Hall get together with Councilors Mike Higginbotham and Andrew Wolverton to chat and enjoy the season.
The Back to School Bash will be Saturday, August 25th from 4:30pm – 8:30pm at Homewood Patriot Park. This year’s Back to School Bash is presented by Pizzeria GM & Ash. The event will kick off the new school year with an array of rides, bounce houses, food and live entertainment. There is no admission charge to enter the event area around Homewood Patriot Park for the event, but to jump and play on the bounce houses and ride the mechanical attractions an unlimited attractions wristband ($10) must be purchased. Proceeds from the wristband sales go to benefit the Homewood High School Band as they prepare to represent Homewood at the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
